It is one of the official second language of the states of Delhi and Haryana. ‘Punjabi’ is the predominant language in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Punjabi is also spoken as a minority language in several other countries where ‘Punjabis’ have migrated in large numbers such as United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.  

Scholars and even common public complaining about the fear of extinction of Punjabi language with time. Despite being mother tongue of millions of people, it is being neglected by her sons and daughters. It is one side of the coin. Punjabi music whether folk or pop and Punjabi dance is becoming immensely popular worldwide. Bollywood dances to the tune of Punjabi bhangra and getting appreciation from all over the world. Globalization, immigration and media have contributed to this emerging trend. Punjabis migrated to foreign land seems to be more conscious about their culture and language.

This is all about music and dance, but if we talk about Punjabi literature in this fast and competitive era, people have no time to read and therefore, it is being neglected. Only the people related to literary field are interested in it. Moreover there seems to be scarcity of good high quality literature. People are being offered cheap and vulgar writings. The vulgarity distracts readers from real track and parents avoid presenting such writings and material to their children.

The need of the hour is to provide top quality content to the readers which must fulfill their literary needs and help them build their opinions.
